I'm sorry--I love Gail Carson Levine's other books, but this one disappointed me. It's supposed to be a retelling of Snow White--but doesn't have the same appeal as other fairy-tale retellings by Levine such as Ella Enchanted. I do not recommend this one, but I recommend Gail Carson Levine's other books.
