The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis, Pauline Baynes I began to read these books in fifth grade, and I just couldn't get through all of them. It sort of annoys me when an author writes book after book about the same thing. It gets dull after the first few books. Also, I found these books sexist, because the girls never really did anything. They just sort of stand around and aren't allowed to fight. Furthermore, the whole metaphor for Christianity angers me. I didn't figure it out until after I got older ... and then, it only made them seem worse. It's like when I ate this muffin and I was like, "Hmm. This muffin is good. What's in it?" and my dad was like, "It's a zucchini muffin!!!" Same thing. "Huh. This book is interesting. What's in it?" "Hidden Christian values!!" Same reaction: Eew.
